Registration

Deadline is Friday 13th November 2009.

The registration fee for the whole conference is £85.00. This includes lunch and refreshments on each day of the conference (Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th and packed lunch on Friday 8th January), and an ice breaker reception on Tuesday 5th January.

Delegates can also register for individual days of the conference at £35.00 per day if they wish (this includes lunch and refreshments).

There will be a conference dinner at Durham Castle on Thursday 7th January, at a cost of £40.00 per person.

The conference fee for 3 days (including lunches and refreshments) for postgraduates and unwaged is £42.50.

There is no reduction on individual day rates or the conference dinner for postgraduates/unwaged.

Accommodation

Conference delegates will be housed in University accommodation at Hatfield College, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis as follows:

Single occupancy (single room), with ensuite. £39.50 per night
Single occupancy (single room), no ensuite. £28.50 per night

Twin occupancy, with ensuite. £70 per night (based on 2 sharing)
Twin occupancy, no ensuite. £51 per night (based on 2 sharing)

Please note that the above costs include breakfast.

Traveling to Durham

By road
Durham city centre is only two miles from the A1(M). Leave the motorway at Junction 62 on the A690 Durham - Sunderland road and follow signs to Durham City Centre. Durham is 264 miles from London, 187 miles from Birmingham, 125 miles from Edinburgh and 67 miles from York. There are several express coach services daily from most major cities. Durham is well served by both regional express services and the local bus network. From the city bus station - a short walk from the railway station – a bus service runs every 15 minutes past the Colleges on South Road.

By rail
60 InterCity trains from most major centres in the country call at Durham daily including 14 trains from London. The National Express high speed service takes under 3 hours from London King's Cross on the main East Coast line. Links to train timetables and ticketing arrangements can be found by visiting:

By air
Durham is 30 minutes drive from Newcastle Airport and about 40 minutes from Durham Tees Valley airport. Both have regular domestic and international flights. Durham is linked to Newcastle Airport by rail and metro. Travellers into Durham Tees Valley can take advantage of the free Sky Express bus service that links the airport to Darlington railway station, with regular connections to Durham.
